News for middle of January 2003
Dear friends,
Greetings from the West Midlands!
My last news update was written just before I set off from Kenya for the UK. I am now just beginning to feel settled here at Birmingham University.
It has been good already to have been able to catch up with family - siblings and parents - in my time here in the UK. I was able on Sunday to share with Andover Baptist both in an informal afternoon seminar, and then through preaching in the evening service. Our pastor asked me to preach 'as I would in Tanzania' (except in English). I am still intrigued as to how people will have received such a message!
My residential address here in Birmingham is 58 Lightwoods Hill, Smethwick, West Midlands, B67 5EB. The telephone number is 0121 434 3597. I am staying in the home of a retired couple called Derek and Margaret Faux, who are old friends of my parents. It is great to be at a place that feels like 'home', and I am being well looked after. My base at the university is Elmfield House, which is part of the Selly Oak campus of Birmingham University.
My Kenyan email (jharries@africaonline.co.ke) so please feel free to contact me on it.
I hope to be at Wantage Baptist church on Sunday 26th January, and then at New Farm Chapel in Alresford on Sunday 9th February.
Jim
