NEWS END OF FEBRUARY 2013

Dear Friends,

March 4th is the date for the Kenya elections. While intense electioneering is going on all over, the country is tense awaiting the date and then the outcome. I imagine many folks are moving to locations where they think they’ll be safer - especially to live amongst their own people (tribe). Schools close in a couple of days. Many missionaries and other foreigners have left the country. Other folks are stocking up on food.

I have been moving with my sister and her husband in the last couple of weeks. It has been a valuable time of just relaxing, sharing, appreciating family, and introducing them to a great deal of my life here. Spending time with foreigners does tend to pull me away from local folks. I look forward to catching up with more of what’s going on at home and elsewhere once they’ve gone!
