END OF FEBRUARY 2019
Dear Friends,
It is interesting to think back to my first three-year missionary term in Zambia in 1988 to 1991. At the time, I perceived a ‘crisis’ in understanding between the West and Africa. Seeking to be a part of resolving that crisis has been a major part of my motivation to continue ever since. I am glad to say that:
1. I was not the only one to perceive the problem, so it is one that other scholars have also been working on.
2. I believe I have been able to make a significant positive contribution towards resolution of extant difficulties.
3. I believe that 2019 could be a pivotal year which brings real change.
4. There’s still much to be done!
While in Tanzania, on 29th January, my long-term pastor and friend passed on to be with the Lord. He had been my pastor, and pastor of my household, since about 1995. In addition, I counted him as a close friend and colleague. We often worked together. We had the burial service on 23rd January, a massive event held next to his home.
