NEWS MID JUNE 2010

Dear Friends,

Pray for the board meetings due to happen this week. 14th for Siaya Theological Centre, and 19th for Yala Theological Centre.

10 days ago a 'crazy' lady joined me in a class. She almost fell onto me when she first came into the building for the class. She sat on the floor next to us throughout the teaching, with her bag of assorted rubbish that she had gathered besides her. She thought the class-room was a toilet ... Fortunately, before the end of the class, her brother came to collect her, so we did not have to remove her forcefully in order to lock the door after we finished. ... Pray for others like her. There are many 'mad' people around. Most are left to wander around, as the families do not know what else to do about them. They walk around half naked, some gathering assorted items of rubbish ... They often get attacked by jigger fleas, and other parasites, and sometimes by angry people.

The Kenyan government recently passed a new law insisting that children need birth certificates in order to register for exams. None of my children had birth certificates. Give thanks that about 4 months and many struggles later I have been able to get them for the two who are to sit exams this year.
