NEWS FOR MID JULY 2009

Dear Friends,

Having closed KIST early due to a lack of money to feed students, teachers now have a bit of slack time, which is helpful for getting on with other things! I was able to make a trip to Kisumu this week, and as you can tell am taking time on the computer!

I am due to leave Kenya for UK on 30th July for 2 weeks to attend my brother's wedding on 4th August. After the wedding itself I plan to spend some days walking and cycling in Wales with my nephew Daniel.

We are testing interest in New Testament Greek in Yala and Siaya Theological Centres. There seems to be some enthusiasm for it. If we get sufficient people, we can teach it as a special course next term. We have been having encouraging classes in Yala and Siaya of late. Less encouraging for us - one of our teachers has resigned. Good for him though, as he has moved on to formal training for ministry in the Anglican church.

Best wishes,

Jim
