NEWS FOR MID OCTOBER 2007

You ask: "What does Jim actually do?"

Sunday:   Visiting/worship/sharing in various churches.

Monday:   Set off at 7.30am to cycle 10 miles to a class at Wagai from 10.00am to 12.00noon. Then go another 8 miles to teach another class at Kirindo from 4.00pm to 6.00pm. I spend night at Kirindo.

Tuesday:   Ride 4 miles into Siaya to teach class from 10.00am to 1.00pm. Then put bike on top of bus, and travel 30 miles the opposite direction, to begin catching up on office work at KIST.

Wednesday:   I have two classes and a mentoring session at KIST, followed by evening fellowship with fellow missionaries.

Thursday:   After teaching two classes at KIST and attending chapel, I may still attend a midweek church meeting in Ulumbi before cycling what remains of the 12 miles to home.

Friday:   Has me in Yala, just three miles from home, teaching a class from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.

Saturday:   Can include various activities such as attending a church service, funerals, meetings, visitors or making other trips.

Between the above I also engage in visiting / prayer ministry and/or catching up with office work.

Give thanks and pray

- that we recently had a meeting of those concerned with Yala Theological Centre, and a new board was selected. Pray for the new incumbents.
- the wife to the Principal here at KIST was just involved in a road accident, but no-one was seriously hurt. Another American missionary's wife is not well. Pray for her: Wanda.
- for ongoing progress in the proposed 2009 conferences for the Alliance for Vulnerable Mission.
- for my various teaching and writing engagements.

Thanks.

Jim
